SAS, also known as Scandinavian Airlines is the flag carrier of Norway, Denmark and Sweden. The airline’s main hub is at the Copenhagen-Kastrup Airport, connecting 109 destinations around the world. SAS is the abbreviation of the company’s full name, Scandinavian Airlines System Denmark-Norway-Sweden. The airline was founded in 1946 as an association to pool the transatlantic operations of Swedish airline Svensk Interkonitinental Luffttraik, Norway’s Det Norske Luftfartselskap and Det Danske Luftfartselskab of Denmark.
